This is $NQW YOUR BANK,WEEK in North Carolina. Gov. W. B. Umstead has issued a public letter calling attention of all citizens to the vital service banks render communities. Mayor C. D. Stevens of Tryon has issued a proclamation on its observance. The banks and their personnel are making a special effort this week to humanize their service and are ^re trying to acquaint the public with the nature of banking opera-/ tions. The Tryon Bank & Trust' Co., serving a wide area from Hendersonville to Landrum and from Hogback Mountain to the Rutherford County line, is an in stitution to be proud of. C., branch for 17 years, has been transferred to the Tryon, N. C., branch 'as manager. The announcement was made today by Thomas P. Hill, Duke vice president and supervisor of branches. Mr. Patrick succeeds K. A. Bowen', wso was transferred to Gastonia, N. C., as manager Nov. 1. Mr. Patrick's transfer is ef v fective today. . — A native of Chester where his parents live, Mr. Patrick joined the Duke Power Co. in 1936.
